Karan Taker, who made his digital debut with Special Apps last year, is currently shooting for his next web project in Jharkhand. Going forward, he plans to fully explore the media as it challenges the artist within himself. Speaking of which, “Doing something in a digital space is very challenging. When you film something with eight hours of viewing content, you can’t leave a scene thinking it’s a complement.”
According to Taker, the web is “hard media” because it “requires a lot of realism and creative content.” He notes, “For that reason I like to get involved in it. People can catch you if you’re fake. It helps an actor participate in a long story format.
The actor is also interested in movies. In 2008, he made a small appearance in the Shah Rukh Khan starrer Rab Ne Bana De Jodi. Now, he is eagerly waiting to capture the imagination of the audience with his presence on the big screen. “All actors are actors with the idea that they should be screened in one theater. Getting a whole crowd in the same room to watch collectively is a very different experience. I enjoyed it as a spectator. I would love it if people saw me making a film with the same talent,” Taker shares.
So, does he have a bucket list of directors he wants to work with? “I like to do 120-minute design with Neeraj Pandey. I admire his fast-paced stories and timely content. I love working with Sriram Raghavan. I have always wanted to explore the worlds of Anurag Kashyap and Vikramaditya Motwane. They have a very different storytelling feel,” he concludes.
