IPL 2021, SRH vs CSK Playing XI: Will Dwayne Bravo replace Sam Curran?

MS Dhoni does not like to tinker with the winning combination. The Chennai Super Kings are on a gold run in the second leg of the IPL in the United Arab Emirates, having won their previous three matches and the spin in the spipper’s mind is unlikely to remain the same.

In the final match against Kolkata Knight Riders, CSK made a forced change, with Sam Curran coming on for Dwayne Bravo. Curran does not have a good game, but any change in the XI against Sunrisers Hyderabad will depend on Bravo Fitness.

CSK need just another win to close the play-off berth and Dhoni will pick this combination in view of the knockouts.

For a team with a large portion of 30 players on the wrong side, workload management is crucial and a win over SRH will see CSK return to the last three group league matches. For now, the winning combination is likely to continue.

The team has a consistent batting line-up from the most impressive Ruturaj Gaikwad and Faf du Plessis to Ravindra Jadeja until he adopts the finisher’s armor from his captain.

From David Warner’s social media post during SRH’s last game, it was clear that the team had no comeback for the former captain. However, Jason Roy scored a half-century in the SRH win over Rajasthan Royals and he is about to open with Wriddhiman Saha. Kane Williamson was next. The SRH then goes into uncertain territory.

Priyam Garg, Abhishek Sharma and Abdul Samad are talented cricketers, but they are young and facing a stage of development where stability sometimes betrays them. Mohammed Nabi could be a good addition to the playing XI, but SRH will have to drop Jason Holder in that case. Change seems unlikely.

CSK is probably playing XI: Faf du Plessis, Ruturaj Gaikwad, Moin Ali, Ambati Rayudu, Suresh Raina, MS Dhoni, Ravindra Jadeja, Sam Curran / Dwayne Bravo, Shardul Thakur, Deepak Chahar, Josh Hazelwood

SRH probably playing XI: Jason Roy, Wriddhiman Saha, Kane Williamson, Priyam Garg, Abhishek Sharma, Abdul Samad, Jason Holder, Rashid Khan, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Siddharth Kaul, Sandeep Sharma
