Against the Knights team, the Chennai Super Kings need a Lord and Sir to pull things back. Anointed Lord Shardul and Sir Jadeja, they bowled together in the middle of four overs and gave up just 20 runs. Lady Luck laughs at Kolkata Knight Riders.
A prominent edge from Venkatesh Iyer fell an inch further than the diving Faf du Plessis. MS Dhoni caught Rahul Tripathi off Sam Curran bowling, but it was no ball for height.
Only in T20 cricket, a well-directed bouncer is called a no-ball, not for oversteping. With their luck and some hitting alive, KKR were 50/1 in five overs. Shardul Thakur came on and fired his first ball from Iyer to an edge behind the stumps. Whose guess is why the batsmen asked for the review, and Iyer warned himself and backed away.
Ravindra Jadeja bowled his overs, predicting Tripathi in the process.
By the time the second man realizes that his attempted reverse sweep was meditated on a little earlier, he was clean bowled. Tripathi broke down with himself. Jadeja turned CSK into a climber.

Chahar is always angry
With his knitted locks, eye-popping looks and a penchant for snoops and verbals, Rahul Chahar has all the necessities of a pantomime villain. He was clearly one on Sunday evening. He did not take it for granted that KS Bharat would beat him with his first ball and then sweep him a slog after provoking a top. In his next serious game, Virat Kohli hit him for a four, knocking down a difficult catch at Hardik Pandya point.
Bharat combined his anguish and hit him on a deep square-leg. Chahar is angry with himself and the world. But with the next ball, he dismissed Bharat with a clever pace change and he vented his anger. The eyebrows were jumping out of the socket, the veins coming down his neck, he was blowing air with rage and even hitting the wicketkeeper Quinton de Cock on the gloves. Before Rohit Sharma and Jaspreet Bumra left him, he almost charged towards Bharat for sending. Say a storm patrol.
A mess in the middle and Shubham Gill out in the first over!

Gil-Dhoni plays Tom & Jerry
The cat and mouse game eventually put a heavy burden on Subman Gill. The Kolkata Knight Riders opener targeted Deepak Chahar for extra cover and mid-off area, but MS Dhoni was one step ahead.
In the afternoon desert heat, Chahar had no momentum to his aid, though a breeze. Dhoni took the second slip after the first ball and put Moin Ali in a small extra cover. Gill accepted the challenge. He danced on the track and cleared Faf du Plessis in mid-off.
He then crossed the Moin for four more. Chahar responded with an inductor and Gill was trapped in front. DRS reversed the on-field LBW decision and Gill was relieved, but Dhoni’s game put him under pressure.
Turning the strike was a good choice, but he erred in his judgment. The 36-year-old Ambati Rayudu added to his misery by knocking down stumps with a direct hit from mid-wicket. Gill returned to the excavated site in despair.
