Three-time IPL champions Chennai Super Kings and five-time champions and current title holders will be allowed back into the IPL 2021 season with the Mumbai Indians on September 20 at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium, a press release from the league said on Wednesday.
“This match is an important occasion as it will invite IPL fans back to the stadiums after a brief hiatus due to the Kovid-19 situation,” the statement said.

Matches will be played in Dubai, Sharjah and Abu Dhabi with limited seating in view of Kovid protocols and UAE government regulations.
Twenty-nine matches were played in the first phase before the IPL 2021 Kovid was forcibly postponed. The league is now reopening with teams targeting playoffs and individual players in the home stretch in view of the Team World Cup.
