Delhi Capitals captain Rishabh Pant, who is on a long tour of the United Kingdom, tried to get used to the intense heat of the UAE by spending time on the balcony of his hotel room during mandatory detention.
However, it was not yet comfortable when he did his first training session on Friday before the IPL resumption.
Pant said he is currently focusing on getting used to the conditions in the UAE.
“It’s very hot here in the UAE. I try to sit on the balcony during my quarantine period to get used to the conditions. But, it felt very hot when I attended my first practice session here.
“I am trying to get used to the situation now and hopefully, I will be fully accustomed to the situation in 2-3 days,” Pant said in a statement released by Delhi Capitals.
The wicket-keeper-batsman said that the team is looking to continue its excellent performance from the first half of the IPL 2021 season.
Delhi Capitals are top with eight points from eight matches.
“Our ultimate goal is to win the trophy, but we are going to focus on our process. Hopefully, we can continue the way we played in the first half of the IPL 2021 season and win the IPL trophy this year,” Pant said.
He also expressed his pleasure in meeting his colleagues after completing his quarantine term.
“It’s a pleasure to meet everyone after coming out of the quarantine. It’s a pleasure to meet colleagues here in training.”
Sunrisers Hyderabad will take on Delhi Capitals on September 22 in the first match of the series.
