Nortje shared pictures from his IPL 2021 campaign and thanked the fans who supported Delhi Capitals.
“In sport and in life, things move so fast. We can not believe how time has passed with this wonderful group. We are so proud and disappointed that we did not get the trophy. Thank you to everyone involved, especially the fans for sticking with us,” Nartze tweeted.
West Indies star batsman Shimran Hetmire has thanked Delhi Capitals for giving him the opportunity to represent India in IPL 2021.
“Thanks to elDelhiCapitals for supporting me and giving me the opportunity to represent you, it was really fun,” Hetmire tweeted.
Following the defeat, Delhi Capitals (DC) head coach Ricky Ponting said he wanted to retain every player on his team for IPL 2022.
“I want to keep everyone honest. We have got this amazing group of people at Delhi Capitals. The playing staff and coaches have done an amazing job over the last two seasons and I want to tell you about our performances for themselves,” Ponting told a post-match press conference.
Ponting said the Delhi Capitals failed to use powerplay and scored eight to 10 runs less than the first six overs of the game.
