Delhi Capitals captain Rishabh Pant on Thursday said that despite losing badly to Kolkata Knight Riders in Qualifier 2, he was proud of his team and described his teammates as “extraordinary warriors” despite losing their team from the IPL.

Delhi lost by three wickets, with KKR scoring just 135 on board for the chase.

Delhi struggled with the ball, but KKR, who lost five wickets for seven runs at one stage, stormed home with one ball remaining.

“It ended up being heartbreaking last night, but I’m not proud to have led an exceptional team of fighters.

“I would like to extend my heartfelt thanks to the owners, management, staff, my colleagues and most importantly, our favorite fans. You all made this season special. We will be back strongly,” he said.

Two-time winners KKR will take on three-time Chennai Super Kings in the summit in Dubai on Friday.
