The demands of Jennifer Lopez’s ‘diva’ when she performed in Top of the Pops

Jennifer Lopez ‘Refused to Act on a British TV Show Unless Her Dressing Room Was Redecorated Completely White,’ Claims Dannii Minogue

Jennifer Lopez apparently made some ‘diva demands’ when she appeared on the British TV show Top of the Pops in the late ’90s.

Fellow pop star Dannii Minogue claimed on her podcast that J.Lo “refused to perform” unless her dressing room was completely redecorated.

The Australian singer, 50, alleged the Jenny from the Block star, 52, demanded “everything had to be white” or she wouldn’t take the stage.

“And while you’re listening to those diva stories, there’s one I can really vouch for,” she said in The 90s with Dannii Minogue.

“I was on Top of the Pops and they told me Jennifer Lopez was on her way, but she refused to perform unless her backstage room was redecorated.”

“They told me that everything had to be white, including the sofa. I asked to come in and see the room because she wasn’t there at the time… she was enjoying every detail,’ Dannii added with a smile.

Dannii said she was confused as to why Jennifer would want an all-white room because of all the body makeup artists often wear.

“All I could think was: ‘The bride is covered from head to toe in body makeup. How do you sit on a white sofa?'”

Daily Mail Australia has contacted Jennifer’s representatives for comment.

Jennifer, known for her hits Love Don’t Cost a Thing and On the Floor, recently celebrated the release of her new Netflix documentary, Halftime.

In Halftime, the singer-turned-actress reflects on her career and reveals that she almost quit when the scrutiny of her curvaceous figure became too much.

“There were a lot of times where I was like, ‘I think I’m going to quit,'” he says.

‘I had to really find out who I was. And believe in that and not believe in anything else.’

Her curvaceous body type was far from the norm when J.Lo burst onto the scene in 1997.

“When I started working, the beauty ideal was very thin, blonde, tall, without many curves,” she says in Mediotiempo.

“I grew up surrounded by curvy women, so I was never ashamed of anything. It was hard, when you think people think you’re a joke, like a joke.’

“But it ended up affecting things in a way that I never intended,” she says, adding that her then-fiancé Ben Affleck was surprised by the criticism.
