A royal security officer alleges Prince Andrew he had an “intimate” relationship with convicted sex trafficker Ghislaine Maxwell and helped provide her with unrestricted access to the palace.
Paul Page, a Buckingham Palace armed protection officer from 1998 to 2004, claims that Maxwell was allowed in and out of Buckingham Palace at will, often seeing her coming and going from Andrew’s apartments.
“He had access like no other individual outside of the royal family,” he said. Sun. “She was on another level.”
The officer also claimed that he once saw the two having an “intimate picnic” on the palace grounds, just below the Queen’s window.
“My other colleagues and I formed the opinion that they had some kind of relationship,” he added.
Page recalled that the palace staff had been instructed to omit her name from the visitors’ book and mentioned that this was unusual.
“We assumed they didn’t want any evidence of her visit to the palace, perhaps because she was Robert Maxwell’s daughter. It wouldn’t have made a good appearance.”
Robert Maxwell was a member of parliament for Buckingham and a British media owner. His publishing empire included the Daily Mirror, Sunday People, London Daily Newsand more.
He was known for being litigious and controversial, and it was later revealed that he stole millions of pensions to finance his own companies.
Andrew has been accused of engaging in sexual activity with one of Ghislaine Maxwell and Jeffrey Epstein’s victims, Virginia Giuffre. Giuffre alleged that he sexually assaulted her on three separate occasions when she was 17 years old.
Andrew denies the accusations and claims that he does not remember Giuffre. A now-famous photo of the Duke has emerged with his hand around the hip of a young Giuffre, the two of them posing in front of Ghislaine Maxwell.
Last week, Maxwell was sentenced to 20 years in prison for helping her partner sexually abuse and traffic teenagers.
Andrew has since struck an undisclosed deal with Giuffre.
When the initial accusations surfaced, the prince said he would help with the investigation, but a royal member the source revealed that he has since changed his mind and “has no intention” of aiding the Epstein investigation.
