Ronan Keating breaks his silence as son Jack enters Love Island – admitting he is ‘so proud of him’

As the highly anticipated Casa Amor week has returned to this year’s Love Island, it seems Gemma Owen is no longer the only islander with a famous family.

Ronan Keating’s son Jack, 23, was among the six new boys to arrive during Friday’s episode – and the Boyzone singer has finally had his say on the news.

While on stage in Brighton for his current tour, Ronan, 45, admitted he has been ‘s****ing myself’ waiting for Jack to enter Casa Amor, but is ‘so proud of him’.

Revealing the news to his audience, the singer explained: ‘There’s something I’ve wanted to share with you all since the start of this tour, t’s very very exciting because my boy, my eldest boy, Jack is going into Love Island.’

Jesting to the crowd not to switch to the TV just yet, he continued: ‘I don’t want you all leaving the gig now to go home and watch it, stay until the end and then you can watch it on iPlayer or what’d you call it, ITV Player.’

Ronan went on to admit that he has been ‘s****ing myself’ because he couldn’t tell anyone, sharing: ‘Can we talk about it please? Because I don’t know how I feel.’

‘I’m very excited, he’s gonna be amazing. He’s such a sweetheart and has got the biggest heart in the world and I’m so proud of him. And off he goes, this is his adventure, it’s all about him and i’m just going to sit back and watch Love Island every night!’ explained Ronan.

Prior to entering the villa, Jack, who is from Dublin but lives in London, said that his father is ‘buzzing’ that he is entering the famous Love Island villa.

‘My dad is a singer, Ronan Keating. He will be watching when I’m on it for sure,’ he said.

‘He’s buzzing for me, me and my dad are very close, we’re best mates.’

Jack is not the first Love Island contestant this year to have famous family connections, as Gemma’s father is English former professional footballer Michael Owen.

And when asked why he wants to go on Love Island, the social media marketing worker said: ‘I’ve been single for a long time, probably 4 or 5 years now and I’ve really been missing that spark that I haven’t been getting on the dating scene, like I’ve been dating for a long time.

‘And I just thought why not? Hopefully I’ll get a connection with somebody and see what happens.’

The famous singer’s son appears to enjoy travel, often posting a series of globe-trotting snaps on his Instagram.

Jack also shows off his athletic side on social media, flaunting his muscular build in action shots as he plays rugby.

Jack said he hopes to bring ‘a bit of energy’ to the villa, saying he’s a ‘pretty positive, fun guy’.

He cheekily added: ‘I think some good chat and a bit of Irish charm as well.’

The new contestant added that he won’t be afraid to tread on any toes, saying: ‘I’m very competitive, for sure.

‘I play rugby back home in Dublin and in London so I’ve definitely got that competitive edge.

Stirring up trouble: Also on the troublemaking line-up is 25-year-old Deji Adeniyi. Deji hopes he’ll bring ‘an energy that makes people realise that love is real’

‘I’m gonna have to potentially break up a couple maybe. It won’t be the most ideal thing, but I’ve got to do what’s best for me.’

The When You Say Nothing At All singer’s son added: ‘I’m definitely loyal, my loyalties are obviously with the girl I’m with.

‘I’ve never cheated on anyone. I can be very compassionate, I’m not afraid to tell a girl how I feel – I wear my heart on my sleeve a lot of the time.’

Jack thinks he’s still single because he just hasn’t ‘met the right girl’. ‘That’s what I keep telling myself,’ he joked.

Also on the troublemaking line-up is 25-year-old Deji Adeniyi.

The accounts manager from Bedford claims he wants to go on the show because ‘my sex life is amazing but my love life is awful’.

Impressing the ladies: Meanwhile 22-year-old Samuel Agbiji from Manchester is hoping to get the opportunity to impress a girl with his culinary skills

Manners: Elsewhere George Tasker, a 23-year-old labourer from the Cotswolds, is ready to find a good mannered girl to settle down with

He continued: ‘I am the master of failed talking stages. My love life isn’t going the right way so one night I decided to apply for Love Island and now I’m here!’

Deji hopes he’ll bring ‘an energy that makes people realise that love is real’.

He added: ‘I’m really going to wear my heart on my sleeve through this. A lot of people take the power of love for granted and I hope people are more open to their sensitive side. I was someone who was really closed off to it.’

Citing his more unconventional flirting methods, Deji claims the way to get a girl to like you is ‘by not giving them attention’.

Star: Billy Brown, a roofing company director from Surrey is set to enter the villa

Energetic: Third on the list is Josh Samuel Le Grove, a 22-year-old model from Essex. Josh hopes to maybe 'bring a little bit of trouble' to the villa, alongside 'a lot of energy'

Hunks: Josh Samuel le Grove (right), a 22-year-old model, is set to enter the villa alongside Billy Brown (left), a roofing company director from Surrey

According to the new Love Islander: ‘You give them 100% and girls know they’ve got you and then they start losing interest.’

Also set to stir up trouble in the villa is Josh Samuel Le Grove, a 22-year-old model from Essex.

Josh hopes to maybe ‘bring a little bit of trouble’ to the villa, alongside ‘a lot of energy’ and ‘good chat’.

He said: ‘I’ve always been single. If you’re going to find someone, it’ll be in a place where everyone is single and looking for the same thing.’

The model said he is ‘competitive’ and would ‘definitely step on someone’s toes’, but isn’t going to ‘take a big risk if I wasn’t feeling them 100 per cent’.

Speaking of his ideal match, Josh said: ‘If I were to settle down with someone it would be serious – I would give them 100 per cent.

‘Personality wise, I’m looking for someone who can stick up for themselves and hold their own. Up for a laugh, funny and doesn’t take themselves too seriously.’

However, his perfect partner has to have good dental hygiene as Josh’s ick is a girl who doesn’t brush her tongue – or takes herself too seriously.

Elsewhere George Tasker, a 23-year-old labourer from the Cotswolds, is ready to find a good mannered girl to settle down with.

Speaking of what puts him off, the hunk said: ‘For me, it has to be bad manners. Everyone should have good manners. And being materialistic or self obsessed.’

He added: ‘I’ve been single now for three years. I had a relationship with a girl from Australia – my only girlfriend.

‘It was a long distance relationship so 10,000 miles apart for almost three years. I’m a lot more mature now and I know what I want in a relationship.’

George said that while is ‘competitive’ and would ‘tread on toes’, he does ‘put other people first’.

The Cotswolds native continued: ‘I learned a lot from my last relationship. I feel like I’m a very giving person.

‘I’m romantic and caring – I do wear my heart on my sleeve. I do put other people first, whether that’s my girlfriend, friends or family.

‘I’m very much a guy who always would make sure she is ok. I’d make her feel special.’

Why Love Island and why now? ‘I’ve had two girlfriends before, I was obviously going to try and find the lucky third one!’

Meanwhile 22-year-old Samuel Agbiji from Manchester is hoping to get the opportunity to impress a girl with his culinary skills.

The model said if he had to woo someone, he would ‘probably cook for them’.

The new Casa Amor contestant continued: ‘If I want to actually impress someone then I’ll cook them a lasagne.’

Samuel has been in a relationship before, but claims he is now ready to enjoy himself and move on.

He added: ‘I have been in a serious relationship before and I believe I’ve been in love before and healing from that relationship took a while but also I learnt a lot about myself and a lot about what I want in a partner.

‘I feel like I’m at the stage where I’m happy by myself but I’m ready to pursue a connection with someone again and see where that will take me.’

Samuel is also ready to make waves in the villa, saying: ‘In general, I am competitive. When it comes to treading on toes, I don’t really care.

It's back! The villa looks much the same as the original pad, but it of course stands out thanks to the neon Casa Amor heart sign that fans are all too familiar with

‘I will tread on toes if I have to. If she’s single then I have every right to do that, the same way I’d expect you to do it to me if you wanted to get to know a girl that I was in conversation with.’

He also doesn’t want someone ‘really dumb’. Talking of his icks, the model claimed: ‘Number one is bad attitude. Lies and manipulation. And no sense of humour is a turn-off.

‘I find intelligence attractive so if someone is actually really dumb to the point where they don’t have common sense, that’s a turn off.’

Last but not least is Billy Brown, a roofing company director from Surrey.

The 23-year-old is hoping third time’s the charm, saying he’s had two girlfriends before.

He’s keeping an open mind about who he wants to get to know, adding: ‘I’m going to bring the funniness, the vibes, probably step on a few toes, I’m not going to lie. I’ve not got my eye on one girl, it’s all of them! I need to get to know them all.’

Billy also believes his strength lies in a solid romantic core.

He added: ‘When I get into a relationship I’m very, very romantic. At the start I’m quite playful, funny, making everyone laugh.

‘But when you put a name on it, I still have that, but I get more romantic, doing things for them, all the cute stuff.

‘The most romantic thing I’ve done is I asked a girl out with candles. I laid out across the garden “will you be my girlfriend?” in candles.

‘I got her to look out the window and see it on the grass. It took an hour to set up! She said yes – of course!’

It comes as Friday night’s Love Island sees the return of the much-anticipated Casa Amor – where the islanders’ relationships are set to be seriously tested.

And ahead of the sizzling scenes, Love Island has shared a glimpse of the secret Mallorcan abode which comes complete with an infinity pool, cosy corners for islanders to graft in and its very own firepit for that all-important recoupling.

It comes as MailOnline exclusively revealed that it will be the girls who will be heading to the Casa Amor villa for the first time in three years, leaving the boys stewing the main house.

The villa looks much the same as the original pad, but it of course stands out thanks to the neon Casa Amor heart sign that fans are all too familiar with.

Meanwhile, the dwelling comes equipped with a selection of sun loungers and day beds on the terrace overlooking the pool, just right for the islanders to perfect their tans and their chat-up lines.

Over in the bedroom, the beds are much like the main villa but they appear to be closer together so everyone can see just who hopped into bed with who.

There is also the standard dressing room included where the ladies including Ekin-Su Cülcüloğlu, 27, and Gemma Owen, 19, can gossip about which boy – if any – they have their eye on.

While outside, the gym comes equipped with everything the boys need to work up a sweat and hopefully turn some of the girls’ heads.

Finally, taking centerstage is the firepit, where the ladies will have a very big decision to make- stick with their boy or couple up with someone new.

A source told MailOnline Casa Amor is destined to be ‘the girls’ holiday of their dreams’ as finally the boys will be left wondering if their new relationships have a chance of surviving.

‘This year it’s all about the girls – they have kept the boys on their toes and will continue to do so by leaving the main villa and heading to Casa Amor’, a TV insider explained.

‘It’s all to play for and the likes of Gemma and Luca’s relationship, as well as Jacques and Paige’s will be well and truly put to the test.’

The girls were last sent to Casa Amor in 2019, the series that starred the likes of Maura Higgins, 31, Molly-Mae Hague, 23, and Amber Gill, 24.

On Friday’s show, Charlie Radnedge, 28, and Antigoni Buxton, 26, will face their fate after Islanders were given the brutal task of choosing who to dump from the villa.

The viewers, alongside Tasha Ghouri and Andrew Le Page, 27, and Jay Younger, 28, and Danica Taylor, 21, voted them least compatible.

But in true Love Island fashion, fans will have to wait until the next episode to see who goes as the show ended on a cliffhanger.

Love Island continues tonight at 9pm on ITV2 and ITV hub. Episodes are available the following morning on Britbox.
