When they first met in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Thor and Iron Man later became friends but still had each other’s voices. The actors who played these roles – Chris Hemsworth and Robert Downey Jr. – seem to have started a similar equation.
This shocking revelation was made by their MCU co-star Jeremy Renner in a recent interaction where he said he was jealous of Robert Chris when he first met him. Jeremy played the role of hockey in Marvel films and is currently headlining his own web series. It was at the 2012 film Avengers that the trio – as well as Chris Evans, Mark Ruffello and Scarlett Johnson – met.
In a recent interaction with actor Docs Shepherd on the Armchair Expert podcast, it was revealed that Jeremy was an Australian and was not actually known in Hollywood before Thor, and that Chris Hemsworth was an object unknown to all of them.
He said, “If you ever play any sport, it’s like joining a new team. I know Robert Downey Jr. I know Scarlett Johnson. I do not know about Hemsworth, ”said Jeremy, describing his first encounter with the Avengers cast.
However, as everyone warms up to Chris, Jeremy reveals that Robert has more threats. He shared, “The first day, we were all wandering around in our costumes. So, it looks like Halloween. We’re excited, but equally ridiculous. I think we all know each other somehow, unless we know this Hemsworth guy is from Australia. And he’s tall, he looks so handsome… Downey said, ‘We have to break his knee. We need to get him out. This guy is so cute. He was so tall, he was so charming, this guy.
