Network 10 has announced that the season finale of Neighbors will air on the main channel instead of just 10 Peach, bowing to pressure from disgruntled fans.

The Australian television network confirmed the details of the broadcast on Thursday and also released a highlight video of the soap opera’s most famous moments.

The historic final episode of Australia’s longest-running drama will air simultaneously on 10 and 10 Peach on Thursday, July 28 at 7:30pm, in a gripping and emotional 90-minute finale.

‘Past favorites return to Ramsay Street to celebrate with our Erinsborough locals. In a massive homecoming, there will be something for everyone spanning every generation of viewers since the opening scene in 1985.’

‘Don’t miss an unmissable last week of Neighbors, which begins on Monday, July 25.’

This comes after outrage over Channel 10’s previous plan to broadcast only the final episode of the soap opera on 10 Peach, where it had moved in 2011.

The show had been showing on 10 since 1986 when the network bought the rights to Seven, with many fans hoping it would return for a recap on the main channel.

“Surely if this show was so beloved, warranting a one-off return to the main channel (after being misled for many years), it wouldn’t be [getting] Fired to begin with? a fan complained on a Neighbors forum.

Starting June 13, double episodes were screened on 10 Peach to bring Australians up to speed with UK air dates so that the latest episode could be broadcast in sync with Britain.

The Australian soap, which first aired in 1985, was axed in March this year following the loss of its main UK broadcast partner, Channel 5.
