Kirsten Dunst is the first heroine in Spider-Man films. The actor starred opposite Toby Maguire as Mary Jane Watson in Sam Raimi’s Spider-Man nearly twenty years ago. Now that Toby is back in the movies with Spider-Man: No Way Home, fans are wondering if Kirsten will do the same.
While it is unclear if Marvel bosses have any plans to repeat her role in any future MCU film, Kirsten herself says she is ready for it.
In a recent interaction with People magazine, when Kirsten was asked if she would like to play the role of Mary Jane on screen again, she responded, “But I will. Sure. I have been asked a few times about it. It’s a very big part of my career and my life.”
Kirsten explains that she has always been a fan of the character and the franchise, which motivates her to be ready to come back. “It’s a wonderful legacy to be a part of and to be the first and to be a Spider-Man fan,” she said.
However, she embarrassingly admitted that she had never seen Spider-Man: No Way Home. “I know I have to do it. I know Tobe is in it and it’s a big surprise and everyone is scared. I will. I’ll see in the end,” she said.
Spider-Man: No Way Home starring Tom Holland as a web-slinger and bringing back two other actors who played this role in previous films – Tobey and Andrew Garfield. The film was a huge box office success, grossing $ 1.5 billion worldwide and becoming one of the most successful films of the pandemic era.
