Netflix is all set to release Sweet Girl, starring Jason Momova as a dedicated family man who will have to fight all sorts of problems to save his daughter, starring Isabella Merced. Jason shared that the script makes more sense to him because he is a father in real life and Sweet Girl is essentially a father-daughter story.
“When I first read the script, it resonated with me as a father. It made me think about what to do if this happened to me and if I was in this situation. What would I do? How would I feel about it? What actions would I take into my own hands?” Jason said in a statement.
Jason Momova’s character on the premises of Sweet Girl deals with the loss of his wife and his revenge on the pharmaceutical company he is responsible for her death.
Describing the film as an emotional roller coaster ride, he said, “Obviously, we have taken a long way in the film, and there are some amazing twists I have never seen before, but some parts of the film just rip your heart out too. “
Jason Momova is best known for playing bigger roles than lives like Aquaman and Khal Drogo from Game of Thrones so this role presented him with a challenge as an actor. “It’s the hardest thing I’ve ever had to do. I’m playing everyday man with no superpowers – a guy trying to keep his family together – and it’s emotional. It’s a terrible feeling when a father can not protect his family,” he said.
Sweet Girl, directed by Brian Andrew Mendoza, will air on Netflix on August 20.
