Hamish Blake revealed that his and his wife Zoe’s plan to help their daughter sleep backfired and made the problem worse.
On a recent episode of the Hamish and Andy podcast, the comedian explained that four-year-old Rudy had been getting out of bed in the middle of the night. In response, his wife paid hundreds of dollars to have someone power clean the house and burn sage.
Hamish was initially skeptical of the process from the start: “I don’t think Rudy got out of bed because of a demon or bad spirit that was in the house.”
And indeed, after the ritual, Rudy’s insomnia continued.
Says Blake, “Rudy wakes up in the middle of the night and says, ‘Daddy, I’m scared,’ what’s going on? ‘Mummy told me there’s a witch in the house.'”
Her four-year-old son believed that spiritual cleansing confirmed that supernatural creatures were roaming the house.
“This has completely failed!” Says Blake, “Now Rudy thinks there are witches wandering around.”
Although Hamish is most famous for his association with fellow comedian Andy Lee, his relationship with Zoe has gained increasing attention since their wedding.
Hamish married Zoe in 2012 and since then the Melbourne couple have had two sons: Rudy and eight-year-old Sonny. They have been candid and quite public about their relationship and experiences as parents.
Hamish regularly posts anecdotes about his children on Instagram, and the couple have spoken to the media about their family life.
Blake recently won a Gold Logie for Most Popular Personality on Australian Television. for hosting Lego Masters Australia.
