Aldi Makeup enthusiasts have been warned to stop using the “secret lip gloss” found at the bottom of store Lacura lipsticks, as it is potentially toxic.
The discovery came after Australian Aldi shoppers bragged on Facebook about a “life hack” in which lipsticks could be disassembled to reveal hidden “lip gloss”.
A Brisbane woman posted about the hidden discovery. “I’m freaking out!!! Am I the last to notice there’s lip gloss on the bottom of Aldi lipstick???” she wrote.
Aldi’s shopping tips have always been popular with savvy shoppers. avoiding Aldi’s stressful bag packing process a simplifying the toy search discovery process. But some “tricks” are simply too good to be true.
The ‘lip gloss’ in question is not actually makeup. According to social media users, it is simply a color-matching chemical that aims to show women the true shade of lipstick. It should not be applied to the lips as it can be toxic.
Women were warned to “be careful” using it as a lip gloss.
Although some commenters believed the original post and tried it themselves, others were skeptical.
One Facebook user wrote: “I guess it’s not meant to be lip gloss and just show off the color of the lipstick. If it was lip gloss they would have made it easier to 1. Open it up and 2. Take it out without having to use a pencil brush.” lips. I would be very careful.”
And, in fact, the original poster mentioned that they almost broke lipstick while trying to access the toxic sample.
“I just broke the stupid thing trying to take it off…it actually comes off easily if you do it right.”
