Alec Baldwin will interview Woody Allen on Instagram Live | Movie

Alec Baldwin has announced that he will interview Woody Allen on Instagram Live on June 28.

The actor made the announcement on his own. Instagram account, with a note that sought to anticipate the criticism to the extent.

“Let me preface this by stating that I have ZERO INTEREST in the prudish judgments and posts of anyone here,” he wrote in the caption.

“OBVIOUSLY I am someone who has my own set of beliefs and I COULD NOT CARE LESS about anyone else’s speculation. If you think a trial should be done through an HBO documentary, that’s your problem.”

Baldwin was referencing Allen v Farrow, the HBO miniseries by Kirby Dick and Amy Ziering, which explored the 1992 allegation of sexual abuse against Allen by his adopted daughter Dylan Farrow.

The film, which was made with the participation of Dylan, his brother Ronan and their mother, Mia, brought the case back into focus. Allen has always denied the accusation; two lengthy investigations were closed without charges being brought against him.

Allen continues to make movies, although his four-picture deal with Amazon was canceled as a result of backlash to the Farrows’ renewed calls for Allen to be shunned by the industry. Allen settled with Amazon in 2019, after suing them for $68 million.

Baldwin has worked with Allen on Alice (1990), To Rome With Love (2012), and Blue Jasmine (2013). He has remained one of the director’s most dedicated advocates, along with Diane Keaton, Scarlett Johansson, Larry David, Javier Bardem and Jude Law.

Among those who expressed regret at working with him were Kate Winslet, Rebecca Hall, Colin Firth and Timothée Chalamet.

Baldwin himself is the subject of multiple lawsuits over the October 2021 accidental fatal shooting of cinematographer Halyna Hutchins on the set of Rust, a new western on which he is a lead actor and producer.
