Expansion
Earlier, a fifth zero survey was conducted in January this year, during which time antibodies against the infection were found in only 56.13 per cent of the population. The first survey after the second wave has now come out.
The committee submitted its survey report to the Delhi government on Wednesday. According to the survey, more than 90 per cent of the people in Delhi have developed antibodies against the corona virus. Like the second wave in April and May, a new wave is not expected in the future as almost the entire population of Delhi has acquired antibodies against the infection, a government official said.
However, it is a different fact that medical science has not yet fully relied on tough immunity, because even in many countries of the world, the impact of the epidemic is still very severe.
Eighty-five percent higher sero-positivity in each district
Zero survey was reported five times before the second wave in Delhi. The sixth survey was launched last month in collaboration with three charities. This is the first zero survey after the second wave.
As part of this, a total of 28,000 random samples were taken from 280 wards from September 24 and examined. At this time, in every district of Delhi, the zero-positivity rate i.e. infection was found to be over 85 per cent of the population.
