Krishna Kalyani, a BJP MLA from Raiganj, resigned from the party on October 1. The day before, the Bharatiya Janata Party had issued a show cause notice to Krishna Kalyani. The notice was sent to him following his remarks against BJP MP Debashree Chaudhary in Raiganj. However, Krishna Kalyani himself resigned the next day. On this occasion he said that I cannot be in the party where Debashree Chaudhary is the MP.
