Wasim Rizvi alias Jitendra Narayan Singh Tyagi, former chairman of the Uttar Pradesh Shia Waqf Board, was arrested on December 17 to 19 for making provocative speeches at Ved Niketan in Kharkhari, North Haridwar in the Ved Niketan area of Nagar Kotwali. Placed in the District Jail.

Wasim Rizvi alias Jitendra arrested in provocative speech case
Wasim Rizvi alias Jitendra Narayan Singh Tyagi was arrested by Haridwar police on Thursday on the Narsan border in Uttarakhand and Uttar Pradesh. Police who brought him to Kotwali city interrogated him for hours. He later appeared in court and was taken to jail. Mahamandaleshwar Yeti Narasimhanand was also with him and was the accused in the case, but he was not arrested.
From December 17 to 19, the Parliament of Religions was held at Ved Niketan in Kharkhari, North Haridwar. It was alleged that Wasim Rizvi alias Jitendra Narayan Singh Tyagi made provocative speeches. As the video went viral, police registered a case following a complaint by Jwalapur resident Gulbahar Khan. Police also issued notices to Wasim Rizvi. At the same time, the matter was also heard in the Supreme Court on Wednesday. The court sent notices to the Uttarakhand government seeking a reply within ten days.
