At a presentation to investors, Michael Dolston, Pfizer’s chief scientific officer, said the company expects the coronavirus epidemic to continue in some areas for the next year or two. During this time, the infection spreads to other countries. Dolstein said the company predicts that the pandemic will spread worldwide by 2024. He said its speed depends on the effectiveness of vaccines and treatments. He said the pace of vaccination should be increased in areas where there is less vaccination.
Prior to the arrival of the Omicron variant, top US pathologist Anthony Fowzie predicted the pandemic would end in 2022 in the United States. However, given the increasing speed of the new variant, this prediction does not seem to be proving to be wrong.
