The Union Minister was addressing a two-day conference of ministers of tourism and culture of the southern states in Bangalore on Thursday. Reddy said the government’s decision to increase vaccination at this pace was to save both life and livelihood. The ministry has approved 15 projects worth Rs 1,088 crore in the southern states under the Swadesh Darshan scheme, which focuses on the comprehensive development of themed tourism circuits. Under the Prasad scheme (Pilgrimage Revival and Spiritual Promotion Campaign), the ministry has approved six projects in the region, which account for 15 per cent of the total budget.
