Two major fires broke out in Uttar Pradesh’s Saharanpur district on Saturday. An old man was burned to death in a fire at one place, and eight others, including two real brothers, were burned at the stake. All the injured were admitted to the hospital.

Meanwhile, a fire broke out at a cattle ashram in Safipur village of Mirzapur police station in Saharanpur on Saturday afternoon. The old man died on the spot when the fire broke out. The villagers reached there and brought the fire under control.

Jeet Singh, 58, of Safipur village, said there was a cattle shed in the village itself. At around three o’clock in the afternoon, he learns to light a fire in the barn as the cold is extreme. Meanwhile the fires reached the grass.

The old man was not picked up and burned to death on the spot. Villagers, on the other hand, were unable to contain the blaze when they received information that a fire had broken out. At the same time, the pile of grass kept in the animal shelter was also burnt. The villagers somehow rescued the animals from the fires.
