According to the police, the incident took place in Hukeri taluka. Gopal Hadimani poisoned his four children, 19-year-old Soumya, 16-year-old Shweta, 11-year-old Sakshi and 8-year-old Srujan Hadimani. Gopal also committed suicide.

According to the police, the neighbors became suspicious as no one was seen in the house till very early on Saturday morning. The men immediately informed the police.
