Third wave reaches peak: 2.71 lakh new cases in one day, Center says – ready to fight any emergency

More than two lakh new corona cases were reported in the country for the fourth day in a row. However, the infection rate and the number of deaths have decreased. In the last one day, 2,71,202 people were infected and 314 died. The infection rate was 16.28 percent. The day before it was 16.66 per cent and 402 patients lost their lives.

At the same time, for the first time in this corona wave in Delhi, the number of patients decreased. 18,286 new cases were reported here. This is a decrease of almost 12 percent in one day. The infection rate increased to 27.87 percent. The third wave of the corona is now very close to the previous maximum. In the second wave, there were one to two lakh cases a day for 10 days, this time the number crossed two lakhs only after six days.

Union Health Secretary Rajesh Bhushan said the country was ready to face any emergency. Adequate funding has been allocated to states to maintain a buffer stock of eight essential drugs included in the National Treatment Protocol. The Center is providing these to the states which are not able to afford them.

All schools and colleges in UP will be closed until the 23rd
Due to Corona, all schools and colleges in UP will be closed till January 23. Online classes continue. Polytechnic odd semester exams starting from 20th will now be held from 16th March.
