The SIT, which is investigating the theft of the sacred form of Shri Guru Granth Sahib from the Gurdwara Sahib in Burj Jawahar Singh Wala village and its subsequent sacrifice, has sought permission to prosecute Ram Rahim in the case. At SIT’s request, the trial court in Faridkot allowed Dera Mukhi Gurmeet Ram Rahim to be brought on a production warrant and ordered to appear in court on October 29.
A chargesheet has been filed against Ram Rahim
The SIT has already filed a chargesheet against Gurmeet Ram Rahim in connection with the theft of a sacred image in three incidents related to the demolition of Baragari. Followers were arrested. A charge sheet was also filed against the accused, the SIT arrested seven Dera followers in July 2020 in connection with the theft of the sacred image, and a few days after the trial, a charge sheet was filed in court against these seven followers, along with three DC members of the National Committee, the National Committee Tent and the Dera Chief. Filed.
However, by then the case was with the CBI and the entire dispute had reached the Punjab-Haryana High Court. After a lengthy legal process, in January this year, the High Court withdrew the power to investigate the Bargari martyrdom cases to the CBI and handed it over to the Punjab Police.
Following the investigation, Punjab police recently filed a chargesheet against Dera followers for raping them and arresting them following a controversial poster case and High Court orders. The challan has yet to be submitted in the theft case.
