Success in the 12th month. Millions of people are completely safe. Health experts believe it is a protective shield to protect against variants such as Omicron.
Listen to the news
According to the Health Ministry, the number of people who completed two doses of vaccination in Delhi at 6 pm on Thursday has crossed one crore. The total vaccination so far is over 2.46 crores. Of these, 1.46 crore took the first dose and 10 million took the two doses.
The total adult population in the capital is 1.50 crores. Based on this, 97 percent of the population received at least one dose of the vaccine, and two – thirds, or 67 percent, completed the vaccine by taking two doses, the department said. However, there is still a Hargar Dastak campaign in the capital to identify the four lakh people who have not received a single dose.
Under this, health teams are also going to people’s homes and vaccinating them if necessary. On Thursday, one such family was in Mayur Vihar Phase-1, where an elderly woman was in bed and the team went to her home and gave her the first dose of the vaccine.
Can save lives
Dr Jugal Kishore of Safdarjung Hospital said the population of Delhi is now 100% fast moving towards vaccination. That’s it. This is because, after vaccination, the effect of corona infection on the population is very small. New variants of infection are also emerging. In this way the lives of those vaccinated can be saved.
Most people have been vaccinated so far
According to the Covin website, 1.41 crore men and 1.04 crore women have been vaccinated in the capital so far. Apart from these, 7,381 doses were given to transgender people. If we talk about the vaccine, Kovishield alone was given 1.94 crore doses, while 50.61 lakh doses of Kovacin and 87,691 doses of Sputnik-5 vaccine were given.
