Punjab: Pakistani boat capsizes in Pathankot, intelligence agencies alerted, search operation launched

Surveillance agencies were alerted when a Pakistani boat was spotted in the Tarna drain in the town of Bamiyal, which borders the Indo-Pakistan border. Police station Naroth Jaimal Singh, Bamiyal police and other intelligence agencies are investigating the case. Pathankot police are currently searching and detaining the boat.

It is said that there was no sign on the boat and nothing was written. As a precautionary measure, Pathankot police and Border Security Force conducted searches in the surrounding areas. Nothing suspicious was found, however.

Bamiyal police outpost in-charge Tarsem Singh said a Pakistani boat reached India via the Tarna drain, which was washed away by the border security forces at around 12 noon on Wednesday. The boat reached near the Symbol School Post in Bamiyal Sector in Pathankot. The boat was seized and an investigation is underway.

Man arrested for espionage
State Operation Cell arrests a man in Pathankot on espionage charges. The accused had an acquaintance with a female officer of the Pakistan Intelligence Agency. The accused were working in a crusher near the military cantonment in Pathankot. It is used to send important information about the country to ISI, a leading Pakistani intelligence agency. The female officer put the accused in a honey trap and started doing this in the hope of making money. In another case, the State Operations Cell arrested Krunal Kumar Bharia on October 23. Krunal was posted in the IT cell of the Indian Army in Ferozepur.
