Delhi Health Minister Satyender Jain on Friday released a bulletin on the Omicron variant corona. Of these, 10 new patients of Omicron were found in Delhi, after which the total number of patients of this variant increased to 20 in the capital, he said.

However, the biggest relief was the news that 10 out of a total of 20 Omicron infected people were healed and discharged.

Two more Omicron infected patients were found in Delhi on Thursday. This brings the total number of cases to 10. One of these patients was discharged. The remaining nine patients are being treated at Loknayak Hospital. On December 5 the first omicron infected patient was found in the capital. Since then, Omicron variant cases have increased 10-fold in 10 days.

On Thursday, the director of the hospital, Dr. Suresh Kumar, said that more than 40 patients have been admitted here so far. That is why the number of beds has now been increased to 100. Two in 10 of Omicron patients did not go abroad. They both contracted the disease after being introduced in Delhi.

Between December 1 and 15, 74 people were diagnosed with corona at the Indira Gandhi International Airport in New Delhi. All these patients were admitted to Loknayak Hospital or Max Smart Hospital. So far, 35 out of 74 people have received genome sequencing reports, of which 10 have found the Omicron variant. Earlier on Wednesday, two omicranes were found to be infected.
