“I am 90 years old now,” Sreedharan said. It is not right to move forward in politics under such circumstances. It can also be very dangerous. So getting into politics is not my dream. I do not need politics to serve my land and country. I am already doing this through three trusts.
He told reporters in his hometown of Ponnani in Malappuram district that the defeat in the Assembly elections had made me think. After that I noticed a lot of important things. It broke me when I lost, but now if I win, I feel like I can do nothing. I was never a politician, I became a bureaucratic politician for a while.
He said that when he joined the BJP in March 2021, the party had opportunities and now conditions have changed. The party will have to do a lot to survive in the state. I said this in my report to the party president after the defeat in the election. Didn’t want to talk about those things right now.
In the past, Metroman E Sreedharan was the BJP’s chief ministerial candidate in the Kerala Assembly elections. However, the BJP lost a single seat in this election. In such a situation, the central leadership sought a report on the defeat from Sreedharan. Sreedharan also lost the Palakkad Assembly elections. He lost to Shafi Parambhil of INC by over 3000 votes.
