Pratapchandra lives in Amar Colony on Thana Highway and drives a rickshaw. For the past six months, he has been touring the Postal Department and the public facility to get a PAN card. The PAN card was handed to him by a young man named Sanjay from Jana Suvidha Kendra, but on the third day the Income Tax Department notice reached his house.

Instructions for depositing income tax arrears in the notice
In the notice, it was ordered to show arrears of Rs 3 crore 43 lakh on it. According to the notice, his annual turnover under GST is around Rs 43 crore 40 lakh. Based on this he will have to deposit income tax of Rs 3.43 crore. The notice left the rickshaw driver unconscious.

On the other hand, the Income Tax Department officials also said that the rickshaw driver had a business worth crores of rupees in his name in the departmental file even though he thought that he may not have had such a business in the past due to his house and financial situation.

The rickshaw driver informed the Income Tax Department that he had been cheated, but said he could not do anything until a police report was received on the case. On this, the rickshaw driver lodged a complaint with the police station highway.
