Maharashtra Civil Elections: Supreme Court orders notification to reserve 27 per cent seats for OBCs as General

In order to take the civil election process forward in Maharashtra, the state Election Commission has been directed to notify 27 per cent OBC reserved seats in the elections as general seats.

Important indications have been given to the State Election Commission regarding the 27 per cent seats reserved for OBCs (Other Backward Classes) for local body elections in Maharashtra. The Supreme Court has asked the Commission to notify these 27 per cent seats in the General category to enable the election process to proceed.
