Important issues related to the energy sector can be discussed at the meeting and some key decisions can also be taken.

The current situation in the energy sector, new regulations and laws will be discussed at the 77th meeting to be held at the State Electricity Regulatory Council Auditorium in Gomatinagar. Some suggestions regarding reforms in the energy sector can also be sent to the government from Foyer. Sources said the meeting will also discuss how to make customer service better and more effective as well as the accountability of power companies.

State Electricity Consumer Council president Awadhesh Kumar Verma has sent a resolution to Foyer that political parties will make free and cheap electricity an issue in elections. The issue of how to get cheap electricity to consumers should be discussed at the Foyer conference. The Speaker must make the appropriate decision on this. Also the maximum power rate limit should be determined in terms of consumer interests. No one should be given the right to sell electricity at a price higher than the prescribed price.
