Several districts in Kerala are once again under threat of heavy rains. The Meteorological Department has issued an Orange Alert for six districts. These districts are Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam, Pathanamthitta, Alappuzha, Kottayam and Idukki.

People were evacuated to camps

He said people were being relocated from a 27-km stretch to the Mulaperiyar Dam in Idukki in view of the threat of floods. 339 were evacuated to six camps.

42 people were killed

Recent flash floods and devastating landslides in the south-central districts of the state have left a total of 42 people dead and 217 houses completely destroyed. Chief Minister Pinarayi informed the House about this. He said 304 rehabilitation camps have been started for flood victims.
