Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has said that a treason case will be registered against those who celebrated Pakistan’s victory in the match.
India suffered a crushing defeat in the India-Pakistan T20 match on October 24. Following this, in many parts of the country, including UP, some people exploded fireworks and chanted slogans celebrating Pakistan’s victory.
Cases were reported in Bareilly, Badaun, Sitapur and Agra
One of the arrested suspects is a resident of Badaun. On October 24, he posted a photo in support of Pakistan on Facebook and celebrated by putting up a photo of the Pakistani flag.
At the same time, two people from Bareilly alleged that they had posted a status in support of Pakistan on their WhatsApp and abused the complainant. An FIR has been registered against a youth in Sitapur for posting a status on WhatsApp in support of Pakistan.
At the same time, another accused belonged to the Izzatnagar police station area in Bareilly. He has been accused of writing insulting words on the Indian cricket team in support of a Pakistani player on WhatsApp status. Meanwhile, in a case registered at the Jagdishpur police station in Agra, he was accused of chanting slogans in support of Pakistan and chanting anti-national slogans against India’s defeat.
