Gwalior: A case has been registered against five people, including a Congress MLA, for killing a property broker after drinking poison

On October 25, Sitharaman Sharma was poisoned outside the residence of Congress MLA Ajab Singh Kushwaha in Gwalior. Sharma died at around 4am on Wednesday while receiving treatment, police said. Sumauli of Morena district in Kushwaha state is represented in the legislature.

Superintendent of Police Amit Sanghi said that an FIR has been registered against the five accused for inciting suicide and further action is being taken. However no one has been arrested so far in this case. However, no statement was received from the MLA.

Sitharaman Sharma’s son lodged a complaint at Gola Ka Mandir police station. The complaint alleges that Congress MLA Sharma took Rs 1.86 crore to sell land in Vikrampur village. But the sale was not registered and therefore the possession was not handed over to Sharma.

According to the FIR, Kushwaha refused to return or seize the money and the MLA, his son-in-law Ranjit Singh, Sarvendra Singh, Anil Singh and Pramod Singh also threatened to kill Sharma’s two sons. Sharma lodged a complaint on September 5 at the Maharajpura police station.
