Listen to the news

The Indian Foreign Ministry on Wednesday described China’s new land border rule as an arbitrary decision. The ministry said it was a matter of concern to us that China had unilaterally decided to introduce legislation that would affect our current bilateral arrangements on border-related issues, including border management.

The ministry said such arbitrary action would not affect the arrangements already made by the two sides to maintain peace, whether on the border or the Line of Control (LoC) along the Indo-China border. The Ministry of External Affairs said it hoped China would stay away from such actions on the pretext of the law, which could lead to unilateral changes in the Indo-China border areas and lead to tensions.
