The Indian Ministry of External Affairs on Wednesday responded to China’s new land border law. Describing it as an arbitrary decision, the ministry said it was a matter of concern to us.

The ministry said such arbitrary action would not affect the arrangements already agreed by the two sides to maintain peace, either on border issues or on the Line of Control (LoC) along the Indo-China border. The Ministry of External Affairs said it hoped China would stay away from such actions on the pretext of the law, which could lead to unilateral changes in the Indo-China border areas and lead to tensions.
