On Friday morning, a police officer at the scene told us he had received orders. Action is being taken accordingly.
Earlier on Thursday evening, barricades were removed from a section of the Tikri border. Meetings of police and farmer leaders continue on the Tikri border. Tikri says the border will be opened if farmers agree by Friday. On the other hand there is no movement to remove the barricade on the Singh border. Outer district DCP Parminder said Delhi police did not remove the barricade despite removing other items.
Delhi Police has set up barricades at various levels on Rohtak Road, a senior police official from the outer district said. The removal of these barricades has begun. Barricades were removed in many places. Only the last ones have barricades. A police official said he was in talks with farmer leaders to leave the protest site. If he agrees to give way, Rohtak Road will be reopened by Friday evening.
