Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Thursday announced a big relief to the poor women suffering from incurable diseases in the assembly. He said that if the cost of treatment of a woman under the Prime Minister’s Ayushman Bharat Yojana or Chief Minister’s Jan Arogya Yojana is more than Rs 5 lakh, the government will provide a special assistance of Rs 5 lakh for the treatment of that woman. In addition, the Chief Minister announced that the pension of lepers would be increased by Rs.500. Until now, lepers received a pension of Rs 2,500 per month, which was increased to Rs 3,000.

The Chief Minister made the announcement during the debate on the Supplementary Budget in the Legislative Assembly. He said the decision was taken by the government in view of the high cost of treatment for poor women suffering from incurable diseases. Apart from this, the Chief Minister also announced an increase in the honorarium of midday mill cooks, convicts, teachers and janitors.

5000 crore will be invested to start a new sugar mill
He said the SP, Congress and BSP governments had closed down 31 sugar factories in the state, blaming previous governments for the closure of sugar factories in the state.
