The accused was identified as Krunal Kumar Baria, a resident of Fall Road, Panchmahal district in Gujarat. Currently, this Army jawan is posted in Ferozepur Kant in touch with ISI agents through social media app. The jawan, who posted on the Army IT cell, shared very sensitive information with Pakistan-based handlers. He was paid by the Pakistan Agency.

Preliminary investigation has revealed that the jawan had made contact with Pakistan Intelligence Officer (PIO) Sidra Khan through Facebook in 2020. After being introduced through Facebook and Messenger, they switched to WhatsApp and many other private messaging and calling apps. The accused Jawan was contacting the PIO on two Pakistani mobile numbers and one Indian number.

During the investigation, SSOC officials came to know that the accused Javanu became a PIO woman officer and started working for ISI and shared information through social media. While examining his mobile, the officers also found important documents. Following this, the SSOC registered a case against the accused at its police station under the Official Secrets Act, 120-B IPC. The Army spy will appear in court on October 24 and will be remanded in custody.
