Air Marshal Manvendra Singh is investigating
The incident is being investigated by Air Marshal Manvendra Singh, an Indian Air Force officer and one of the best helicopter pilots in the country, a Brigadier Rank Officer of the Indian Army and Indian Navy. Eyewitness accounts of the incident near the accident site in the Nilgiris, Tamil Nadu are being recorded. Top government sources said the probe team would complete its probe in another two weeks.
The investigation team started work the day after the accident. The sources said that the probe team had started recording the testimonies of eyewitnesses but some of them had changed their statements.
Advised to stay away from speculation
Conspiracy and other speculation behind the crash has been going on since the December 8 crash. The Air Force said in a tweet on Friday that it had set up a Tri-Service Court of Inquiry to investigate the tragic helicopter crash. He said the investigation was progressing fast and trying to find out the cause of the accident as soon as possible. Until then it is appropriate for people to stay away from any speculation. Tributes will be paid to those killed in the accident.
The investigation team also began inspecting the helicopter black box. For this, the help of technical officers from Bangalore and Delhi was taken. Sources said the black box was in a very secure state and all flight data and communication records between the pilot and the ATC were secure.
