In five states, the Assembly has banned election rallies, road shows and public relations until January 15, along with the announcement of elections. The term of this order expires today. That is why the Election Commission on Saturday issued new orders extending the sanctions till January 22.

However, political parties also received some relief during this period. With this in mind, the Election Commission allowed political parties to hold indoor meetings with a hall capacity of a maximum of 300 or 50 per cent. The Commission advised that no shortcomings should be made in adhering to the Corona protocol. In addition, the model code of conduct should not be violated.
