A fatal accident took place on Wednesday in West Godavari district of Andhra Pradesh. The bus fell into a ditch due to loss of balance here, resulting in nine tragic deaths and 22 injuries. West Godavari district superintendent of police Rahul Dev Sharma told PTI over phone that there were about 47 passengers on the bus going from Aswarapeta in Telangana to Jangareddygudem. State Chief Minister VS Jaganmohan Reddy has announced compensation of Rs 5 lakh each for the dead.

The accident happened while trying to escape from the truck
The SP said the APSRTC bus driver tried to divert the oncoming bridge over the bridge over the Jaleru River. The bus collided with the bridge railing and fell into a drain 25 feet below. So far, eight bodies, including five female passengers, have been recovered, Rahul said.
