Union Home Minister Amit Shah has arrived in Srinagar for a three-day visit to Jammu and Kashmir for the first time since the repeal of Article 370. After reaching the valley, Union Minister Amit Shah reached the residence of the slain CID Inspector Pervez Ahmed in Naugam, Srinagar to meet his family. Pervez was killed by terrorists in June 2021. Along with Amit Shah, Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha, Union Minister Jitendra Singh and DGP Dilbag Singh were also present on the occasion. During this time, he met Fatima Akhtar, the wife of Union Home Minister Ahmed, and gave her official documents related to her government job. On the evening of June 22, Inspector Pervez Ahmed was ambushed by terrorists. In which he became immortal.
During the three-day visit, he will review the security situation in Jammu and Kashmir and the progress of various development works. Special emphasis will be placed on preventing future targeted killings in the future and suppressing terrorism from the root. In Srinagar, the Home Minister will launch a direct flight to Sharjah. In the wake of the visit, heavy security arrangements were made in Jammu and Srinagar. Drones are also being monitored at two locations. Apart from the Home Ministry, senior officials of various security agencies NIA, IB, CRPF, BSF also reached Srinagar for security-related meetings.
Meanwhile, Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha and Union Minister Dr Jitendra Singh held meetings and finalized programs in Jammu and Srinagar. The Home Minister will be in Jammu on October 24. He will address a gathering here at Bhagwati Nagar. At the Beneficiaries’ Meeting, certificates and documents related to the scheme will be handed over to 80 beneficiaries of various schemes of the Central Government. In addition to launching the new block of IIT Jammu, a program to meet various delegates has also been proposed.
Authorities observed the rally on Friday
On Friday, Union Minister Dr Jitendra Singh reviewed the arrangements with officials at the rally venue. Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha and Dr Jitendra Singh finalized the programs after a meeting with security agencies and administrative officials at the Srinagar Secretariat. Security meetings as well as beneficiaries meeting will be held at SKICC, Srinagar.
A schedule of meetings with various delegates was also proposed. Meanwhile, BSF DG Pankaj Kumar Singh also reached Srinagar on Friday. Tight security arrangements have been made in the areas surrounding Dal Lake. The entire Dal area was turned into a security camp. Increased patrolling of security forces.
