Home Minister Amit Shah will hold a public meeting in Jammu today for the first time since becoming a Union Territory. All arrangements have been made for this at the JDA Ground in Bhagwati Nagar. As the weather cleared since Sunday morning, the process of getting workers and people to the hall began. Bhagwati Nagar is under constant inspection from the fourth bridge to the venue.

The Home Minister has made strict security arrangements for the event in the city as well as the surrounding areas. Security agencies have made multi-level security arrangements. This includes arrangements like sharpshooter, drone surveillance, mobile checkpoint, mobile patrol. Additional troops have been deployed from Jammu Airport to Bhagwati Nagar area. In addition the surrounding areas were sealed.

The Home Minister said tight security has been put in place at the places where the convoy will go, a police official said. Most places are closed to public traffic. Police and CRPF personnel were deployed across the city of Jammu.
