Payal Ghosh was recently attacked by some masked men when he went out to buy drugs at night. The actress, who was taken on social media, said that when she got into her car, she was attacked with a rod and had a bottle of acid suspected to be in the hands of the men. She escaped the situation with a minor injury.
“I did not know it was a planned attack. I could not recognize it. I was so scared, I left immediately. I had a small wound in my left arm. The swelling would heal,” she tells us.
Although Ghosh believes Mumbai is a relatively safe city for women, she has questioned the laws regarding their safety. “Mumbai is a safe place. I have lived here for the last 10 years and I have never encountered (before this incident). I often go to Carter Road for a cup of coffee at one in the morning. I do not know what happened that day. “Women’s safety is a myth. We are not safe anywhere. Laws on women’s safety are of no use,” she said.
The incident does not allow the actor to suppress her soul, she shares, “It scared me before. I’m trying to get out of it. I have to be brave. Women in general need to be brave. They should not be afraid and stop their lives. ”
Although she had previously talked about filing an FIR, she now plans to go over the accident. “I am currently focused on my work and I take all precautions to be safe. Taking any action is not on my mind now,” Ghosh concluded.
