Filmmaker Karan Johar congratulates his daughter Ruhi on Daughters’ Day. He went to Instagram Stories to post a picture of Ruhi, who looks a little taller than before in her long hair.
When the father-daughter duo laughed in the film, Karan wrote, “My heart, my baby. #HappidatorsDay. “Ruhi and her twin brother Yash were born in 2017 by surrogate. Her name is Spin after Karan’s mother Hero Johar, while Yash is named after his father, the late filmmaker Yash Johar.
On the occasion, Karan congratulated Alia Bhatt on naming her daughter. “For the rest of my daughter’s life,” he captioned the post.
Until last year, Karan used to post daily picture and video updates of his children. However, after June 2020, after the death of actor Sushant Singh Rajput and the massive online trolling Karan received for it, the filmmaker cut back on sharing several posts related to his family.
He recently shared a video of his mother after surgery. He mentioned in the caption that the children were waiting for her at home. “My mother … my superhero! She underwent two major surgeries in Lockdown. Over the past 8 months … she underwent spinal fusion surgery (DR BHOJRAJ’s aura) and her right knee transplant (DR MANIAR’s genius) with both of her unshakable inspiration. And she’s almost 79 years old but has the spirit and passion for life as a millennial! I’m so proud of her … I love you so much Mom! Your kids are waiting at home with cake and song “he wrote.

Regarding his role as a parent, Karan said during the India Today Conclave in 2017 that “mother is more than father”. In a chat with Ranveer Singh, Karan spoke about how difficult it can be for a film companion to be a single parent. “Being a single parent is really horrible and scary because I think I need a mother and father to complete the upbringing. In many ways having Yash and Ruhi is a loving decision, but it’s also a selfish decision. Because I want that love in me. There is space, it should be filled with children, ”he said.
