Anupam Kher revealed that he met Zakir Hussain in New York recently. The actor shared a video of their encounter, calling it an inspiration.

Recently, Anupam Kher met tabla maestro Zakir Hussain in New York. The actor has been in the US for a while now.

Taking to Instagram, Anupam shared a video of his encounter with the music legend and wrote, “Encounters in New York. Delighted to meet the maestro, our country’s pride professor #ZakirHussain Saab in New York. I’ve been a fan of him for a long time. What a humble guy. It’s pure magic when He plays the drum. Jay is his!!”

In the video, Anupam praises Zakir and calls him an inspiration. “Acha laga New York jaise sheher mein Hindustaniyo ko mil kar (Zakir) saab ko mil kar. Badi prerna hai ye (It’s good to meet Indians in New York, to meet Zakir Saab. He is an inspiration), Anupam said.

In return, Zakir tells Anupam that he is a huge fan of him. He said, “Aapse humesha milke acha lagta hai (It’s always good to meet you)”. Zakir revealed that the last time they met was at a friend’s house in Chicago. “Also, there, in the morning, you were playing and I was among the audience because I knew you were performing there. Very happy to see you,” added Anupam.

Anupam shares regular updates about his stay in the US. A few weeks ago, he visited Priyanka Chopra’s restaurant, Sona, in New York. Share photos with employees on Instagram and praise them. “Dear priyankachopra!! It was really a pleasure to dine at your wonderful restaurant @sonanewyork. Everything was great. Food, ambiance, great staff headed by Chef Harinayak. You gave us Indians one more reason to be proud of you. Keep it up. You are the best Jay Ho!” He said. Priyanka commented, “Oooh thank you Anupam sir! Go happy you loved!”

Anupam recently met his co-star, Silver Linings Playbook, Robert De Niro.
